Phyllis Davis

About Author

In the early 1970s, American business was like the Wild West, with little formal conduct. Witnessing this, I created a framework for ethical and professional conduct in the American workplace.

Drawing inspiration from diverse sources, I developed comprehensive guidelines for business etiquette. Through extensive travel and networking, I identified core principles for success.

With over three million air miles speaking and teaching globally, I became an architect of American business etiquette. In 2001, I founded The American Business Ethics and Etiquette Trainers Association (ABEETA). I certify new Ethics and Etiquette Experts online to use my information to train companies and offer keynotes to groups and conferences. Contact me for more information and training dates.

My new book, Navigating Virtue: Ethics and Etiquette in the American Business Landscape, will be published in seventy-five countries in the summer of 2024. Over my 40-year career, I have witnessed everything from boardroom handshakes to deals made via Zoom calls in limousines. I have also covered major corporate scandals, including the downfalls of Enron and Worldcom.

My passion lies in helping professionals inspire and lead others, emphasizing trust and enduring people skills. I am committed to sharing my knowledge and experience to help others succeed in their leadership roles.

My journey has also led me to immerse myself in the art world, starting as an actor (inclusivity word for acting, actor, actress) in Hollywood in the early ’70s. In the 1980s, I was part of Julia Cameron’s first cluster group for The Artist’s Way, and I have taught my interpretation of the book in workshops to over 40,000 people. I am deeply grateful to Julia for her mentorship.

When not writing or speaking, I enjoy gardening in my Portable Farms® Aquaponics System, which my husband and I invented in 2008, and playing with our three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. My global travels have shown me that effective communication transcends borders, which is essential for today’s business world.

Navigating Virtue offers insights and practical advice for thriving in today’s dynamic workplace, with humor and anecdotes adding zest. Whether you are a seasoned leader or starting your career, this book equips you with tools to build strong relationships, foster productivity, and achieve your goals.
