Average Training Fees for Newly Certified ABEETA Experts. Your fees will go up as you become more established:
- Referral fee: If you are certified by the American Business Ethics and Etiquette Trainers Association (ABEETA), and you are in good standing as a speaker and trainer using our proprietary materials, I may refer you for jobs as a speaker or trainer for a 10% fee. I will invoice the company and pay your earnings when the company pays me, minus the 10% fee.
- Corporate Training Rates (on site): US$200 to US$500. Offer to speak for free for such groups as Rotary International (you will usually talk for 22 minutes after the luncheon, and you’ll also be invited for lunch) or the Chamber of Commerce; in exchange, ask them if you can have yourself filmed during the talk so you can include video clips in your speaker’s video to present to prospective companies.
- Online Training rates are slightly less, US$100 to US$250 per half day. A half-day is considered three and a half hours. You will not train the entire three and a half hours, but you will be available for questions and answers, encourage dialogue, create small groups to workshop your lesson, be available for networking, or private coaching as part of that half-day rate. You may also mix topics like teaching Dining Manners and Small Talk. Communication skills, managing teams, and creating ethics pledges are all stand-alone topics requiring the entire half day. Phyllis Davis will coach you on your presentation to become a top-notch speaker.
- Value-added Services: Offering additional services such as follow-up webinars, Zoom calls, or additional coaching sessions can justify higher fees. Your fees should reflect the value you bring to the organization and the impact of your training or speaker engagement on their business practices.
- Speaker Fees: US$1,000 to $5,000 for a keynote address at a conference or convention. A major keynote address is about 40 to 50 minutes. The company appreciates it when you stay after the keynote to answer questions. I also suggest you offer to sit on a panel for free if it is the same day as you speak, or if you live locally, you can return on another day of the conference to sit on the panel.
- Corporate Coaching: US$200 to US$300 per hour, weekly appointments on the phone or over Zoom with a minimum of 90-day commitment. This fee is based on your experience as a business coach. Your goal is to groom and guide people in the corporate environment in communication, relationship building, and leadership. Your coaching goals must be clearly laid out on the first call. I offer a free 30-minute call to lay out these goals prior to the first one-hour session. Zoom calls are preferable for consulting/coaching, if possible, to establish deeper rapport and it is also a chance for you to watch their non-verbal clues during the session.
Travel Expenses:
Speaker and trainer fees typically include airfare, mileage, accommodation, and meals. These are standard reimbursement practices:
- Airfare: You will be reimbursed for economy round-trip tickets from the speaker’s home to the event location, often capped at the advanced purchase rate. Often, your airline ticket may be overseen by the company at the front end.
- Mileage: personal vehicle mileage is reimbursed at US$0.50 per mile.
- Accommodation: Up to two hotel nights, typically at the conference hotel, are reimbursed at the group rate.
- Meals: A fixed daily meal allowance, often around US$50 per day, is standard.
- Miscellaneous Expenses: Additional fixed allowances may cover local transportation, tips, and other minor expenses varying from US$60 to US$140 based on the number of presentation days.
- Always confirm specific terms with the event organizer before the engagement.
